We are happy to announce that some BDSC trails are now posted as "Limited Availability" on the OFSC Interactive Trail Guide. More will become available in the next few days.

Please read the description of "Limited Availability" in the graphic accompanying this post. It may be necessary to adjust you riding style and your expectations. but you can now legally ride some trails in our area.

BEFORE YOU GO, always check the OFSC Interactive Trail Guide (ITG) for the latest trail status before riding any OFSC trail and do not enter any OFSC trail showing RED.
BDSC trail grooming operations started on Tuesday. Grooming staff have been out packing the heavy snowfall we received on Monday and will begin actually grooming once the packing process is complete.

As the snow that fell was quite deep, it was also quite light and very dry. As a result, it takes some time for the snow to set up into the hard trail surface we all want to ride. It is important that everyone stay off the trails until they are shown as Limited Availability, (Yellow) or Available (green) on the OFSC Interactive Trail Guide (

Riding the trails before they are posted as yellow or green can destroy many hours of preparation. Trails need time to set properly and in some areas, terrain may be such that they require more time, or more snow to be deemed safe to ride.

Always check the Interactive Trail Guide before you head out to ride. We update the ITG on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We will post to let everyone know when BDSC trails actually open, but the Interactive Trail Guide will always be the only place to find out about trail availability.
