Doesn't take long for a couple idiots to ruin it for the rest of us.I can't believe that I am having to post this on the first weekend in December but we have already gotten calls from upset landowners and yes that is correct not just one landowner but multiple landowners.

We have gotten reports of sledders opening closed gates, crossing fields that have been planted and even crossing fields that still have crops on them.

Our great, hard working volunteers have been working hard brushing, signing, and staking the trails but we still have more to do before trails can be opened. It seems that some of you people figure there is some sort of trail fairy out there doing all the work and as soon as we get a bit of snow the trails should be open for you to ride.

On average it takes our club about 2-1/2 months of volunteering our time on weekends to get all our trails ready for your riding pleasure. Our start of trail work is generally dictated by when the crops come off the fields. This year has been a double whammy with the late harvest season farmers are dealing with getting the crops off and then we got this very rare early snowfall and everyone has the itch to get out. But with some people getting out and scratching this itch it is threatening our trail system for everyone else for the rest of the season.

Tomorrow we should be out working on more signage but instead we will be putting our time towards trying to calm down some of our landowners having to put physical barriers up because some people either can't read or don't understand what a Trail Closed sign means.

Thank you

I just don't understand why people can't just wait and respect the trails, this is what many look forward to but it can't happen if the landowners are not respected. So disappointing.
