VOLUNTEERS…the heart of snowmobiling
Volunteering is for all ages, keeps us active & young at heart. What easier way is there to learn new skills, share our talents and make new friends?
OFSC District 2 is very proud of all of our Club Volunteers and their accomplishments.
Each snowmobiling season, Volunteer Recognition nominations are chosen by clubs for the ‘Club Volunteer of the Year award’, the ‘Club Family Achievement award’, the ‘Club Outstanding Rookie award’ and 'Club Trail Patroller of the Year'. From all those nominated, a ‘District’ recipient for all four categories are then chosen.
We congratulate the following nominated ‘Volunteers’ for your dedication to the sport of Snowmobiling in the 2008-2009 season:

September 10 – 12, 2009 OFSC AGM Convention |
 |
Twenty four Delegates representing our 8 member snowmobile clubs of District 2 attended the OFSC AGM Convention held on September 10-12, 2009 in Ottawa, Ontario. |
District 2 Club Volunteers honoured and awarded Provincial Awards at the 2009 OFSC AGM: |
Receiving the 2009 OFSC Provincial Family Achievement Award is Steve and Carol Ann Stapley, Old Hastings Snow Riders S/C. Family members not present but equally honoured include sons Scott, Bryce and Kelli. This family of 5 truly exhibit what snowmobiling is all about. From community, to club, to district involvement and participation, to simply enjoy the sport, each member contributes greatly in their own ways. Their undertakings, involvement and accomplishments since taking up the sport back in 1969 are overwhelming. Congratulations to all of the Stapley Family, District 2 is so very proud of you! Receiving the 2009 OFSC Provincial Rookie of the Year Award is Terry Post, Paudash Trail Blazers S/C. Terry first caught the snowmobiling bug back in 1977. Due to health issues he had a rough road to follow for a number of years, but his perseverance not only to get back sledding again but in the short time since becoming a volunteer has proven to be a most positive influence on both the club and the district. Congratulations to Terry, District 2 is so very proud of you! Click here to read more |
Also honoured was the Havelock & District S/C as they celebrate 40 Years as a Snowmobile Club 1969 – 2009 – wow, what an accomplishment, and still going strong! |
